The lens on a bridge camera cannot be removed. This is not a major problem as they often have a 10x to 20x zoom lens. A DSLR is a Digital SLR, meaning it has a digital sensor to record images.

To recreate this image I had to go to the train station in Central Nottingham and take a portrait shot of the train track I had to get onto a platform and take the image of the long track.

When editing I went onto the Photoshop software and firstly I opened the image up onto it and then I made a new layer which I used the brush tool to darken the selected areas which is mostly the sides I did this by changing the brush size to around 700 and changed the opacity to 65% furthermore to get the lighter areas so it faded in i changed the brush size to 500 and changed the opacity to 17% Furthermore I made another layer And I copied and pasted a 'Grain texture image'' from the internet and I changed the opacity of the image to 8% so the fade has more of an effect and it looks retro. Furthermore On another layer I then used the dodge tool to brighten the end of the track up and make it lighter just like the Image i'm recreating.

Film Noir can be a difficult/technical subject to photograph.

Explain THREE considerations you must make when deciding on the camera settings

1) Aperture, ISO, shutter-speed, white balance (because we are going to make it black and white afterwards).

                                             This is the order we done and we got two wrong

The ones we got wrong was the Voice over and urban and rural settings
This is the correct order.

 I now understand what types of things are related to film Noir , e.g murder, neon lights , crime.
Furthermore I learned that all the things on the Generic conventions apply to nearly every single film Noir film, (they are all the similar). This will help me with my film Noir photography with the type of clothing and old fashioned scenery like houses and inside buildings.

I'm going to use four images, I'm going to use them to create a poster or a game cover the theme is Film Noir.

The first image I'm going to recreate is this

To do this I'm going to have to go go to the train station in central Nottingham, the lighting for this would have to be natural to recreate this. Furthermore I would have to make the image have a high ISO to get all of the light into the camera. the shutter speed would have to be fast because the train is standing still therefore I will have to do that. I would have to take a mid shot, and stand a bit far away to get the scenery in.

The second image I'm using to recreate is this one for this I would have to get someone to dress formal. and furthermore I would have to get someone to go in a dark room get and special cover to cover the rest of the elements and just focus on the face that is where the light source would be (on the face) or Someone could go in a dark room and light from outside could be shining in. The ISO would have to be high because there isn't much light source and I will have to make it as bright as I can without making it too bright. The main purpose of this image is to make it look like there is a window in-front of him and the light is coming from outside.

The third image I'm going to recreate is this one For this I would have to get a girl to recreate the image. She would have to be sitting down with a red head light in front of her the ISO would have to be a little high because the image is a little bit grainy, this means that the light source isn't going to be that bright. Furthermore the props used would have to be a cigarette and old fashioned jumper/clothing. the shutter speed would have to be fast because of the smoke from the cigarette. The shot for this image would be a mid closeup shot.

The final image I'm going to recreate is this one. For this I would have to go to the train station and I will be standing on-top of a platform to get this shot This picture looks very old fashioned and mysterious that's why I chose to recreate this image,The ISO is going to be low because it will be outside and quite bright light . I would have to tilt the camera portrait so I can get a long-shot of the train track which will be going down the picture. Then I would edit my final image so it looks black and white.

This picture would've been taken in a small house.

Lighting – what type of light source has been used? For this lighting they have used red head lighting and put it far away from the person in the image but its sort of in front of him so they got the shadow effect and also we can see his face and hand, hes wearing dark clothes therefore we cant see the rest of his body.

What camera settings/considerations may have been used?Camera settings used in this image would be a low ISO because the image is not grainy and is very visible.Furthermore the shutter speed would be fast because the actor is standing still and less light enters. Furthermore the aperture would be narrow because it uses a slow shutter speed therefore the image is more in focus.

•                                   What message could the photograph be trying to convey?|
             The photograph could be trying to convey a memory or a scene that the man in the image has              witnessed. or it could also be that he is a murderer and the woman behind him is one of his                  victims.

             What problems would you face if trying to recreate the photograph?
               The problem I may face while recreating this would be how to get the woman's face on                  the image because her face looks like a shadow but it isn't one.

What camera settings/considerations may have been usedThe camera settings used in this image would be a very low iso because there is a light source in front of all of them therefore they are all very detailed. furthermore the shutter speed is fast because they are all standing still.

•       What message could the photograph be trying to convey?
The message the photograph could be saying is that it is a gangster film
and its got the mafia involved we could see this by the title and the gangs of people in the image which are carrying guns, furthermore there is a girl too which also can relate to money, guns, violence, prostitution.

What problems would you face if trying to recreate the photographEditing all the images and morphing them into one. would be a struggle

Lighting – what type of light source has been used? 
The lighting used in this could be a hair light and a redhead
to get the detail from his face.

What camera settings/considerations may have been used? 
Camera settings used in this is a Low ISO because the persons face is very detailed due to the light source in front of him so there is no need to have a high ISO. Also the aperture would be narrow to insure the depth of field. And the shutter speed would be fast.

•      What message could the photograph be trying to convey?
The message in this image could be that the guy in focus could be running away from
the two guys in the background who have a torch in their hand and they look like they are looking for someone.

•      What problems would you face if trying to recreate the photograph.

The photograph could be trying to convey, romance, love and affection this is because from the slogan it says ''He went away but now he is back'' this can mean that the woman in the image has been caught up with men business.
